Utrecht, The Hague, Rotterdam #8: Conclusion

Today's the 12th of June. I am back home.

Did some work in Rotterdam, took the trains to Antwerp, Leuven, and now finally Sint-Truiden. Did you know that a train from Rotterdam to Antwerp standardly costs you around €30-40. Yesterday I paid €61. Why? Because my train didn't stop in Breda. €25 extra to avoid Breda. I've never been, but... Breda can't be that bad, can it?

I'm feeling good. Happy with my stay in the Netherlands. Not much happened on which I wish to comment again. I enjoyed myself more than I expected I would. Came in with prejudices about my going there. Came out ashamed of them. Maybe not ashamed. Still had to work. Came in feeling quite bleak. Came out... glad. Glad that I went, glad that I stayed, glad that it was the right decision. In the end all seems to fall into place. Good for me.

Now I need to sleep. I am exhausted. Yesterday coming back to Leuven I needed to see my friends. Fill them in on my delightful dutch endeavour. Especially, of course, brief them on my Hague-ian heroics. It ended up being 4am before I found my bed.

I leave you with my trip anthem. Song that basically played on loop in my ears last week. Anouk. Anouk Is Alive. Anouk - One Word. Listen to it. Nice and sad. Good for the heart.

Now all that's left for me to do: write in my green journal, which I mustn't neglect. I do this while listening to my new Mothers record.

Thanks

Alex.
